Found this a year ago, and now it's becoming seasonal again. Still a great song, and conveys the creepiness of Halloween quite well.

Would've been better if it were just trance, the wubs just don't seem to fit this song very well.

Well it's barely even trance. Aside from the delay piano and beat, the wubs are the only other electronic element. Without them it's just a repetitive riff with some small orchestra instruments and a beat... and that's no fun. I feel the basses give the track a little more movement.
